Recommended Summary Plan for Emergency Care and Treatment – Study

Recommended Summary Plan for Emergency Care and Treatment

Evaluation in Primary Care Study

The Recommended Summary Plan for Emergency Care and Treatment (ReSPECT) process aims to help patients and doctors or nurses talk about and record advice on emergency treatments. This is important because in lots of medical emergencies a person is not able to talk about or make decisions for themselves. It is best to make plans, as far as possible, ahead of an emergency situation when the patient and their health care professionals have more time to talk about and decide what should go into the plan.

To evaluate the ReSPECT process in primary care and the community, researchers will be collecting information from patients’ clinical records in this practice.

If you are contacted about the study and do not want information from your clinical records to be used for this study, you will be able to let the study team know by following the instructions in the letter.

We will not collect information from your record if you tell us you do not want us to do this.

If you would like further information about the study please visit the study website: ReSPECT (warwick.ac.uk)
