Cervical Screening ( posted on Mar 6, 2019 )

Doctors across Doncaster are calling for women to attend their smear test appointments to help more women live healthy lives.

Around 2,600 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer in England each year and around 690 women die from the disease. It is estimated that if everyone attended screening regularly, 83% of cervical cancer cases could be prevented.

Nationally, attendance at screening appointments is at a 20-year low, with 1 in 4 women in the UK not attending their cervical screening.

In Doncaster, the number of women aged 25 to 64 that attended their cervical screening appointment in 2017-18 was 74.2%, slightly higher than the national average of 71.7%.

EXTENSION TO CANTLEY SURGERY ( posted on Nov 25, 2015 )

The Practice is very excited to announce that our proposed extension to the Cantley Surgery has been passed by Planning at DMBC. We thank Simon Hainsworth, Architect and Neil Hart, who will work with us as Project Manager for putting together what we believe to be a fantastic building. We feel it is important to use local contractors throughout the project in order to support local business in Doncaster. Work commenced on Monday 30 November 2015, by local builder Lindsay Barber Ltd. On completion the Cantley Surgery will be a two-storey building which will provide us with much needed additional consulting rooms, additional treatment rooms and provision of a training suite for our GP Registrars. There will also be additional carparking space for our patients. We hope to keep any disruption to a bear minimum but as with all building projects there will be some upheaval. Our main concern is to maintain the health and welfare of our patients and staff throughout this period. It may be necessary for patients and staff to move to Albion Place for a short period in order to maintain a safe environment for all. It is hoped that the project will be complete by August 2016. If you have questions, concerns or indeed suggestions then please contact us via our e mail address Cantley.Reception@gp-c86007.nhs.uk or contact Sue, our Practice Manager on 01302 304646, who will be happy to receive your call.

SELF CHECK IN AT ALBION PLACE & CANTLEY ( posted on Sep 14, 2015 )

We have a self check in system at both surgery sites. This has been installed so that patients who are attending an appointment with the doctor or nurse can promptly check themselves in.
